There are many people who use VPN to surf the Internet for various reasons. The big question is for which provider is more reliable and worthwhile. In addition to hiding your identity, you may think that it is not worth to pay so much for only anonymous surfing and free services are available.
However, there are many different usages of VPN and I will introduce some valuable applications. Meanwhile, there are lots of free VPN services provided by various backgrounds and no one knows how they handle your connection logs.
Firstly, one of the applications is to watch overseas videos, such as drama in British TV – Channel 4. Watching TV shows in different regions or live football matches are some common reasons for use.
On the other hand, online shopping is also a very interesting application. For example, if you use a VPN service to Internet surfing in France; then you use a website like hotels.com or expedia.com to book hotel rooms located in France or Belgium, you may find the booking 20% cheaper than via an IP address in Hong Kong (Note: Of course it is not guaranteed the 20%, and the difference depends on the date of booking.)
Also, if you are an e-commerce company or an online owner, you may have to pretend to be a user from all over the world to conduct some functional tests for the online store or website. I am operating an online course platform, and must always test whether the server responds quickly to students from different countries to taste their learning experience. If a problem is found, the location of the cloud service provider or server may be changed.
After talking about the application, I will introduce two reliable and cheap VPNs for you to choose from:
- NordVPN-They are also established vendors, one of the vendors with the most complete functions, and the number of servers is particularly large, and the viewing speed is very smooth. They support up to 6 devices, which basically meet the needs of most people and families.
- Surfshark-They provide almost the lowest price VPN service, and there is no limit to the number of devices. Functionally, it can be similar to NordVPN. However, generally speaking, you need to watch a large number of foreign videos. Generally speaking, NordVPN’s overall performance is better.
Some people may ask why ExpressVPN is not recommended, there are 2 main reason as the higher price. Further, ExpressVPN is keeping connection log but they insist no IP, connection timestamp, etc. are stored. Nevertheless, there is no detailed list on which type of data is stored and that’s the biggest concern.
I am using both of the above. Surfshark is mainly used by the company for website testing and connecting to our company’s overseas servers, but occasionally it is also used for Netflix videos. Personally, I use NordVPN to watch Netflix movies and NBA basketball (account registered with a US address).
